The "Riviera Fiorita" event is an extraordinary event held every year since 1977 along the Brenta Riviera. It is a historical reenactment along the river with a water parade, period boats and regattantes in splendid costumes.
For the occasion, numerous typical boats from the Lagoon also take part in the festivities, including gondolas, caorline and mascarete embellished with flowers and enlivened by music and singing.

The parade is held in memory of the meeting that took place in 1574 between Henry III of Valois, the future King of France, and the Doge of Venice Alvise I Mocenigo, who welcomed his guest to Mira's residence, Villa Contarini dei Leoni, and held a party there for the occasion.
It is a tradition for residents and tourists from all parts of Italy and the world to follow the event by bicycle, starting from the town of Stra, where the figures board boats to Mira for lunch at the villa, and then on to Malcontenta, where the procession traditionally ends.
